FAQ
What happens to my report?
After you submit a report, the Hotline will contact you as soon as possible. If needed, we will ask you for additional information. We will also ask for your consent to process your personal data. This is necessary to be able to work on your report. We will take your report into consideration and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Sometimes we will advise you on steps you can take yourself, possibly with the help of your club’s board. Or we can arrange mediation and support. In other cases, we will contact the Sports Arbitration/Disciplinary Prosecutor (Instituut Sportrechtspraak/de aanklager in tuchtrecht), or transfer information to the police. We do this, for example, if there is a dangerous situation for you or other members of your sports club. Whatever we do, we will always keep you well informed.
Does the Hotline also provide confidential advice?
No, the Hotline does not provide confidential advice. The information you provide to the hotline must, if necessary, be shareable with other officials and institutions. For confidential advice, you can contact a confidential counselor. This can be arranged via the Centre for Safe Sport Netherlands, or via the federation’s confidential counselor.
When am I required to report?
As a club board member or supervisor, you are required to make a report if you suspect sexual intimidation. You can report to us or to the Centre for Safe Sport. In certain situations, you are required to report to the disciplinary prosecutor. If that is necessary, we will point this out to you. Is your suspicion about match-fixing and match manipulation? All federation members are required to report this to us or to the Centre for Safe Sport Netherlands.
What should I include in my report?
It helps if your report is as complete as possible. What happened, how did it happen, who was involved, where and when did it take place, and which people or institutions are (possibly) also aware of it? Include as much information as you can in your report.
Who can report?
Anyone may file a report. The Hotline can handle reports concerning (possible) integrity violations involving members, athletes or employees of the federation, or situations in which federation members may be at risk.
How does the Hotline handle my personal data?
When you make a report to us, we always ask in advance for your consent to use your personal data. We need this in order to properly follow up on your report. In handling your report, we adhere to the federation’s privacy statement.
Which regulations apply?
The Hotline handles reports about possible violations of our codes of conduct/behavioral codes (CSN), boundary-crossing behavior, sexual intimidation, match-fixing and doping. You can find all of the federation’s regulations on the website.
What does the Centre for Safe Sport Netherlands do?
This is the national reporting point for all sports. You can choose to report either to your sport federation’s hotline or to the Centre for Safe Sport Netherlands. The Centre for Safe Sport Netherlands can be reached by phone at 0900 – 202 55 90 (weekdays from 08:30–17:00).
When do I call the police?
Call the police in acute, threatening situations via 112 or, if it’s not urgent, via 0900-8844.
Chat via FIER
If you want to discuss your story anonymously, you can chat via FIER. The chat team staff will listen to you, provide information, and help you if you wish. The chat is intended to advise athletes and anyone involved about sexual intimidation, abuse or other forms of intimidation, violence and boundary-crossing behavior. Chat with Fier is available from 16:00 to 06:00.
